Arches
I almost died at Arches National Park, and to be honest, it was entirely my fault. When hiking out to the famous Delicate Arch, we lost track of the trail and found ourselves at a very narrow ledge with a huge drop off into the bowl-like canyon below. But we could see Delicate Arch right on the other side, so we convinced ourselves to go this way even though it was very, very wrong. Needless to say, we survived and made it to the other side, but I still wouldn’t recommend it. Arches was a fantastic park, one that was just as beautiful from the road as it was from the trail. We got to drive around a lot and stop off to explore many great spots, all which led to incredible arches that seemed to defy physics.
After this first adventure in Arches in 2015, I got to return again with my mom in 2020 during our trip to some of Utah’s other national parks. This time, I stayed on the trails! It was another fabulous visit to one of the coolest places in our country.
